Cubs
The Cubs have been finishing their Disability Awareness Badges. Aubrey and Davey from Disability Sport N.I. visited our pack and introduced the boys to Boca, blind football, Curling, Wheelchair Rugby. We recommend you view the videos on our Facebook page to get a feel of the buzz the cubs got from this event.
We were delighted to welcome Mr Brian Gault to Cubs where he distributed his book, “Look no hands”. Hopefully in later life the Cubs will remember Brian’s key message – to try to do your best, never say can’t, and when you are at your lowest Jesus will give you strength.
This term the cubs reviewed their Cubs’ collections. We had badges, Match Atax football cards, shells, model lorries, horse figures, coins and Moshi monsters. Having learned Braille and sign language during the disability badge we complemented this with the communicator badge with phonetic alphabet, flags and semaphore. Last week we had the excitement of a new member, Charlie Cubster the Cubs pet Syrian hamster. Congratulations to James who has received his Silver Award. This is the highest award available in the Cub Scout Section and is gained on completed of all the challenge badges. In the spirit of scouting St. Patrick’s Cubs’ Football team attended the District Football Competition where they did their best.
