The institution of the Rev Dr Andrew Campbell as rector of the Parish of Skerry, Rathcavan and Newtowncrommelin took place in Broughshane on August 24 2016. He was previously the curate assistant of Bangor Abbey in the Diocese of Down and Dromore. Andrew was originally from Carrickfergus and was educated at Belfast High School and read Ancient History and Byzantine Studies at Queen’s University. He then went on to read Theology at Union Theological College. Prior to ordination, Andrew worked with the Church of Ireland as a student worker in the chaplaincy team in both Jordanstown and Belfast campuses as a youth worker in St Nicholas, Carrickfergus. Andrew was ordained as deacon in September 2012 and served an internship in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.
